Region V is comprised of the "Great Lakes" states. Our states include Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. The VPP program in three states (Illinois, Ohio and Wisconsin) is managed by federal OSHA while the other three (Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota) is managed by the state. As 8/31/11, Region V has 414 VPP sites and we have over 300 VPPP members.
We hold an annual conference for Region V members, VPP companies and those who are interested in attaining VPP recognition. On average, 500 people attend the conference each year. The conference lasts 2 days with a comprehensive program including advanced, intermendiate and beginners curriculum in all VPP and VPPPA topics. Over 50 exhibitors attend the conference providing attendees a wealth of information on the latest and greatest practices and safety equipment.

About the VPPPA:
The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association (VPPPA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is a leader in safety, health and environmental excellence through cooperative efforts among labor, management and government.
As part of its efforts to share the benefits of cooperative programs, the VPPPA works closely with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), OSHA state-plan-states, the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the development and implementation of cooperative programs within the agencies. The Association provides expertise to these groups in the form of comments and stakeholder feedback on agency rulemakings and policies. The VPPPA also offers comments and testimony to members of Congress regarding legislation on safety and health issues.
VPPPA members include over 1,400 companies and worksites that are involved in or in the process of applying to OSHA's or DOE's Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) and government agencies that are developing or implementing cooperative recognition programs.
